Tender support for contractors
We help contractors win the right Council, Department of Transport and Main Roads, resource sector, renewable energy and disaster recovery work at the right price, then deliver it without giving away margin. We add an independent, principal-side read of the tender before you commit to bid, while you price, and when the contract is signed.
For contractors
Pre-tender Support
Bid or no-bid review
An early, plain assessment of scope, contract terms, program and site conditions, so you can decide whether to bid and where to focus estimating effort.
Contract and specification risk review
Clause-by-clause review against the conditions in use (AS 4000, AS 2124, Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Council conditions, and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements requirements), covering risk transfer, time bars, liquidated damages, security, insurance, latent conditions and approvals.
Scope gap and constructability review
Drawings, specifications and the schedule of rates checked against each other for missing items, conflicts and ambiguity. Site hazards such as live traffic, services, excavation, water and contamination are raised as cost and program drivers.
Value engineering and alternatives
Practical, proven alternatives in method, materials, staging and material reuse, with approval and design risk stated honestly.
Quantity checks, rate build-ups and benchmarking
Independent checks of high-value quantities against the drawings, unit rate build-ups for key items and, for civil works, benchmarking against historical rates from won contracts.
Risk and opportunity report
Every material finding referenced to its clause, drawing or specification, with a recommended response: price it, qualify it, query it or exclude it.
Clarifications and submission review
Plain-English clarification questions to the principal before close, and a check of non-price schedules, methodology, program, safety, quality, local content and departures against the tender requirements.
For contractors
Post-tender Support
Clarifications and negotiation
Responses to principal queries after close, negotiation positions on price, qualifications and departures, and value engineering offers that hold up to scrutiny.
Contract review at award
Review of the contract issued for signing against your tendered position, with a handover risk register and a schedule of notices and time bars for your delivery team.
Contract administration
Notices, variations, extension of time and latent condition claims, progress claims and correspondence with the Superintendent, prepared on time and backed by the contract.
Close-out
As-constructed records, handover documentation and support through the defects liability period.
Independent RPEQ certification
Certification of civil works by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland where a principal requires an independent certifier, or when your own engineers are committed elsewhere.
Our contract and commercial review covers every discipline in a tender, including electrical, structural and other specialist packages. RPEQ certification is for civil works only; for other disciplines we work alongside your registered engineers and subcontractors.
Who we support
Contractors bidding across Queensland
Civil contractors bidding for local government, Department of Transport and Main Roads, mining and resources, renewable energy and disaster recovery work across Queensland. That includes road construction and pavement rehabilitation, stabilisation, bulk and detailed earthworks, drainage and culverts, dams and embankments, and mine site civil works.
Where a tender includes electrical, structural or other specialist packages, our contract and commercial review covers them too, and we work alongside your subcontractors on the technical detail.
